What is e-Commerce? Another way of saying "electronic" commerce, or "online shopping." In particular it refers to being able to use credit cards or other payment accounts online. Some site, in addition to credit cards, accept e-checks and PayPal. For the time being, at least, this website will accept only Mastercard, Visa and Discover Cards. American Express may be added soon. Is it safe to shop online? Having done a lot of it, I can say it's probably safer overall than shopping in person. At least when you're processing a payment online, your data is being heavily encrypted so it can't be read by other people or devices. When shopping in person, there's always a chance that your credit card number and verification code can be physically seen and replicated. This website has been certified to be trustworthy by Comodo. If you click their logo in the lower right of your screen, it will show you the verified information that they will stand behind. Your purchases are therefore covered, because you have relied on this information. The payment mechanism operates under SSL technology (Secured Sockets Layer) and your movement through that is also encrypted. We use Authorize.Net to process your credit cards. They are one of the largest, most trusted processors in the industry. You will not leave our website during a purchase. Your information is fed to them through the Internet after being highly encrypted. On their end, it is de-crypted and processed using their own security systems. If, however, you are totally opposed to using your credit card through the website yourself, you can contact either the Treasurer or the Webmaster, and we can process your payment by logging directly into the Authorize.Net gateway. I added something to the cart, and now I can't find the cart! This is a temporary problem. When you add an item to the cart, a confirmation dialogue box pops up to tell you the item was added. As soon as you see that box, you need to press CART if you want to go the cart, or CONTINUE if you want to continue shopping. To get around the problem you're currently in, though, just add a different item to the cart, and be a little quicker to press the CART link. When you're in the shopping cart window, you can then delete the item you didn't want and/or adjust the quantities. The circular arrow symbols mean REFRESH or UPDATE, and the trash can, obviousl, means DELETE.
