Richard Abdoo, Owner

Abdoo Organ Services has been in operation since 1995. Our specialty is electrical and electronic problem resolution and feature addition. This includes combination actions and solid state switching, in addition to custom electronic designs for unique problems and needs. We also perform routine repairs, maintenance and tuning. Current projects include relocating and augmenting an organ for St. Damian Parish, Westland. This includes all new solid state switching and the addition of five ranks. The photo to the left is a small demonstration instrument built by us for the Detroit Chapter AGO.

We have been in business in the Detroit area since 1977. Specializing primarily in tracker action, we have been involved in nearly thirty major projects since that time, ranging in size from large new organs (such as the three-manual tracker in Old St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Detroit, to modest rebuilds, such as the electric-action organ at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Rochester. Many earlier projects involved relocating and rebuilding tracker organs. The photo to the left is a recent installation for Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Sterling Heights, MI.

We specialize in cutting and drying our own lumber, and in matching a new organ to its environment, aesthetically and tonally. We will work with organ committees to find the best solution for their needs, whether that be a custom-built new organ, or finding the most appropriate way to reuse an existing instrument in a rebuilding project.
